EN 14125

EN 14125 is the European standard for thermoplastic and flexible metal pipework for underground installation at petrol filling stations. It sets the minimum requirements for underground plastic pipework used at filling stations, for such parameters as permeation, operating pressure and estimated working life, and defining the tests and minimum or maximum test values for all parameters for the pipework system to be approved. It also defines the marking of the pipes for different categories of use.

All EN 14125 approved pipes must carry the marking EN 14125 and relevant class and type for each pipe.

One of the main differences compared to older standards is that the EN 14125 allows a maximum permeation of hydrocarbons of only 0,2 g/m2/day. This was a great step forward to protecting the envionment at the time. KPS was the first company on the market to get the EN 14125 approval, as early as in 2005. In 2008 France became the first country to adopt the EN 14125 standard as a mandatory requirement, andmore and more European countries are looking to incorporate this standard in their local regulations.
