Product development
KPS had a busy year 2011. Never before has the petrol piping company released so many new products during one single year. Already in January came the conductive tank chamber and a dispenser chamber, now accompanied by additional dispenser chamber models and an underground fill box.

In time for summer, a new range of fill, ventilation and tank gauging products saw the light. This includes the VR1 adapter with integrated flame arrester, P/V valves with integrated flame arresters, an anti-theft manual gauging solution and a biodiesel ventilation filter that prevents diesel bug growth.

Two new transition fittings were released later during the year, along with new compact double wall fittings and entry seals to meet the strong trend towards double-wall piping. Lastly the leak detection system got a new design.
Increased production capacity
During the year production capacity has been increased by the addition of a new production facility for pipes in Beijing, China. The production staff in Beijing has been trained by production expertise from Sweden and pipes tested and approved to EN 14125 by ERA Technology Ltd, UK. Pipes produced in Beijing will be supplied to the growing Chinese market.
In the Kungsör factory in Sweden KPS has added production capacity for double-wall sockets, fittings and formed bends.

Conductive chamber break-through
Sales of the conductive tank and dispenser chambers are taking off. Customers buying or specifying KPS conductive chambers include Petronas, Total, Repsol, Shell DODOs as well as independent retailers. Supplied countries so far include the UK, Spain, South Africa, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Fiji.
The conductive tank chamber also won the MATRADE 2011 Innovation Award in November.
More certified installers
The KPS technical support staff kept busy and did 135 site visits during the year, ranging from 1 to 5 days long. No less than 672 installers were certified or re-certified according to KPS’s training and certification program.
Sales volumes exceed expectations
So far the financial crisis does not seem to have hit the retail industry, as sales continue to develop in a positive direction. With increasing volumes in important market such as China, Africa and South East Asia and good sales all-over, KPS managed to exceed the sales budget, making 2011 the best year in company history
Outlook for 2012
Based on the 2011 results and with new products and an improved market offering in place, KPS CEO Lars Selling is expecting this year to be at least as good as 2011, despite the insecurities in some European financial markets.
- We are going to focus on three things next year: Further improving the way our products are installed and the design of underground piping, making the market aware of our expanding chamber assortment - and continued product development of our secondary contained fittings. We will also expand our factory in Sweden with more floor space and added capacity for pipe extrusion.
