BP/Aral in Germany builds their first KPS station

2011-10-18
The first BP/Aral filling station with conductive plastic KPS piping has now been installed in Hamburg, Germany. This represents a break-through for KPS on the German market as other major oil companies are expected to follow BP/Aral’s lead and introduce plastic piping for their German retail networks.

All of the piping, including ventilation and vapor recovery are made with double wall conductive HDPE piping from KPS. The Hamburg station has three dispenser islands with 5 different fuels available at each dispenser.

The installation was made by installers from Tokheim/Göhler and Niedergesäss. Plastic piping is new to the German market and care is taken to support installers and designers during the introduction phase. The pipe installers at this station have all received a 2-day training and been certified for installation of the KPS Petrol Pipe System™.

Christian Niejahr and Ronald Pinka from KPS were on site during the installation. The KPS design team with Ružica Optrkić-Radoman and Ronald Pinka has also been involved in making the pipe design and layout.
